High Fashion Vs Fast Fashion

Fashion is a style of dressing and self-expression in a certain time and location and in a certain context, of apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, cosmetics, hairstyles, and body language. In its more common usage, the word implies a style defined as what is fashionable at any given time. However, over time the meaning of the word has taken on a more universal meaning encompassing all styles of dressing. The word has also come to include different types of dress such as work wear or office attire, formal dress, casual dress, prom or cocktail dress, sport wear, evening dress, formal dress, casual dress, formal and informal dress. The meaning of the word covers any type of dressing a person might choose to put on for any occasion.

A fashion show is an event where the entire social life of a culture, corporation or country is brought to the stage in order to be spotlighted through various forms of art, music and performance. A fashion show is very similar to a theatrical presentation except that instead of seeing the performer or actors in action, we get to see their individual attitudes, styles and expressions in relation to the occasion and setting. Everyone at some point in their lives has seen or been in one. It is a great way to observe the ways people dress, act, or even think about themselves. A fashion show can come from any culture and time period as they are held regularly around the world.

While the two terms can mean the same thing, they are not interchangeable. Fast fashion is characterized by minimalism in design and production that allows for speedy changes in popular styles and items. These changes can be shocking to the general public but are often necessary as the product becomes outdated quickly. For example, in the last ten years, high fashion has been revolutionized by artists such as Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga who have injected sexiness into what was once considered to be nothing more than pornography.
